With the Mayweather vs McGregor Live Fight
fight set to be the biggest boxing event in years, everyone seems to want a spot on the undercard. According to TMZ, Adrien Broner is the latest fighter looking for a bout, calling out UFC star Nate Diaz in what would be another cross-sport battle between a boxer and a mixed martial artist.Broner is currently scheduled to face Mikey Garcia on July 29, less than one month before the Aug. 26 battle between Mayweather and McGregor.
Place: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
Date: August 26 ,2017
“If I come out unmarked…like I usually do, I’ll be willing to fight on Floyd’s undercard,” Broner said of his meeting with Garcia. “If we can make it happen, let’s do it.Diaz, who beat McGregor by submission before losing the rematch by decision last August, would be following the Irish star’s path from UFC to boxing if this match took place. While Broner hasn’t put together the career of Mayweather, he is no slouch at 33-2 in his career.Of course, he will first have to get past Garcia and his 36-0 record.Meanwhile, boxing star Roy Jones Jr. has also said he wants to be a part of this fight card and is looking for a match against UFC legend Anderson Silva.
Mayweather Promotions reportedly has full control of the undercard and nothing has been announced, but these potential battles between boxers and UFC fighters would certainly keep fans from both sides entertained McGregor vs Mayweather Live
before the main event.Conor McGregor will not be wearing a Reebok UFC fight kit for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He actually might not be donning Reebok at all.McGregor has no obligations to Reebok and is a free agent when it comes to apparel sponsorship, his manager Audie Attar told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
“There’s a lot of open categories that we’ve been negotiating with brands, including Reebok,” Attar said. “We’ll see how that all plays out.”Estimates have put McGregor earning somewhere in the vicinity of $100 million for the Aug. 26 bout against Mayweather at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The ability to add more sponsors outside of his deal with Reebok as a UFC fighter will only add to that number. Attar would not say how much McGregor is making for the fight, because both sides have signed a confidentiality agreement.“Conor is well taken care of,” Attar said.
McGregor, the UFC lightweight champion, and all UFC fighters have had to wear Reebok in the Octagon and during fight week since the UFC signed an apparel deal with the company in 2015. No other sponsors are allowed on a fighters’ shorts in the cage. McGregor also had an individual contract with Reebok as a UFC athlete, but that apparently will not extend to boxing, Attar said. He’s currently a free agent with regard to athletic apparel,” Attar said. “We’re still in discussions with Reebok and other brands.”The boxing match is being promoted by Mayweather Promotions and distributed on pay-per-view by Showtime Boxing. The UFC is not an official promoter or distributor.

Helwani asked Attar if McGregor could even wear a competing brand like Nike for the Mayweather fight, and the manager said that was a possibility. It’s definitely a great opportunity for Conor and any brand we decide to align with,” Attar said. The big Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match goes down on Aug. 26, 2017, and for nearly a week we’ve been hearing UFC President Dana White and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe talk up the event. But, one thing that’s been conspicuously absent over the past several days is commentary from the athletes themselves. Both Floyd and Conor have kept relatively quiet, preferring to let their surrogates sell the event on all the sports channels.
But, that’s going to change down the road, as Showtime Sports Executive Vice President Stephen Espinoza revealed on the latest episode of “The MMA Hour.”I think it would be a big miss as purely a fan to not see the two of them Mayweather vs McGregor Live Boxing
interacting repeatedly,” he told host Ariel Helwani. “Mayweather did it, I think we ended up at 10 cities in 11 days for the Canelo fight. I don’t think it’s going to be something like that, but I do think this is the kind of thing where people are going to want to touch it and feel it and see these two interact. So I do think late June, early July there’ll be multiple cities. Not a huge tour, but more than a couple. And I think it’ll be something that’ll be really entertaining to watch.”
Not too many stops we hope, or McGregor could take issue with things. But, it’s really what most people are looking forward to regarding this fight. While the fight has been panned widely as non-competitive in the ring, there’s a lot more excitement regarding what we’re going to witness in the build up to the fight. Conor has made a name for himself as one of the most bombastic presences ever during media events, from stealing the belts of his opponents to his attire, which often calls back to classic boxing attire of the past.
